NDPTC's cadre of instructors are of the highest caliber, very well-respected in their fields and disciplines. Many have advanced degrees in science, engineering, planning, and architecture, and years of practical experience as leaders within their field of expertise.

Steven Oglesby, M.E.P.
Steven serves as a Senior Emergency Management Specialist at a facility at the Department of Energy Oak Ridge Reservation in east Tennessee where he serves as the Emergency Response Organization Liaison and Exercise Coordinator. His responsibilities include writing and reviewing emergency plans and procedures, exercise design and conduct, and when activated, Emergency Operations Center manager. Steven’s emergency services career started in 1974 as a volunteer rescue squad member. Since 1999, when Steve became a full-time emergency manager, he has been involved in hundreds of responses (to include active participation in 28 Presidentially Declared Disasters). He has served in a variety of incident command positions, to include Incident Commander of a 37-agency hazardous materials response. Steven is a Master Exercise Practitioner and certified Emergency Management Institute instructor. Steven’s emergency management career followed his 20-plus years as an award-winning television journalist. During this time, he served as a general assignment reporter, investigative reporter, freelance network correspondent, assignment editor, news director and promotion-marketing director.
